Behind the L’Enfant Blazer

Part 2 in a series for our inaugural blazer launch. Part 1 was the official announcement, Part 3 will dig into the construction and detail of the garment, Part 4 will share our favorite ways to style our blazers.

We’ve introduced to you our first blazer collection and we hope you’re excited about them as much as we are. The L’Enfant Blazer comes in four colorways (navy hopsackcharcoal hopsackblack/charcoal mini check twill and black/charcoal plaid check twill) in a modern classic style. We want to share with you a little about what’s behind the name and our inspiration behind this collection.

This Buggy-Back Blazer is named after Pierre L’Enfant – the designer and architect of the DC street plan. Without knowing what the future of this city would be in the late 1700’s, L’Enfant overwhelmingly shaped our city, and built the foundation for our home today – from doing business on Capitol Hill to the hayday of jazz on U Street.

We took inspiration from L’Enfant’s artistic aesthetic: repetition, simplicity, use of lines and collections, and a rich foundation, and created four timeless pieces that are versatile enough to take you from work to drinks. Their tailored fit and classic construction will have you looking and feeling your best so that you can be prepared for any meeting or night out. Check out some of the inspiration below and see more on our Pinterest board.
