Interested in getting 10% off your order, while helping those in need? Then let us tell you about a great partnership that we have with an awesome DC-based organization called Martha’s Table. It’s a great charity devoted to providing clothes and other household items to people in need. Check out our page on Responsible Consumption for more information on our partnership. But click below to learn how you can participate.
1. Embrace your Ill-Fitting past
First, go to your closet and find the frumpiest fitting shirt you own. If you’re in the DC area, stop by our Georgetown location to donate your old shirt and get the 10% discount. We’ll donate the shirt to Martha’s Table on your behalf.
If you’re not in the DC area, don’t worry! You can participate too. Simply send us a picture of you donating your old shirts to the local charity of your choice to [email protected]. We’ll immediately send you a coupon to get 10% off your next order!
Also note that Martha’s accepts all kinds of clothes (as long as they’re in good shape). So any old suits, pants or other pieces of clothing are also welcome and acceptable for a discount.
2. Place an order
Be it one shirt, or many, you’ll receive a 10% discount on the value of your order–note this only applies to full-priced items – note this only applies to full-priced dress shirts (excluding Classics). Also, there’s no limit to the number of times you can donate shirts for a discount.
By the way, one thing we love about Martha’s Outfitters is their philosophy of “clothing with dignity”. Their DC location is set up much like a retail environment, though they sell their shirts for $1 to $4. Beyond the attention to creating an environment that supports a healthy self-image, we love their policy: no clothing can be donated if it is dirty/stained or unwashed, and they only accept clothing on hangers or neatly folded. Absolutely no clothes in garbage bags!
We love their attention to detail, and care for the feelings of the individual in-need. We hope you join us in helping Martha’s Table and Martha’s Outfitters. And of course, whether Hugh & Crye shirts are involved or not, we hope you visit (and donate to) Martha’s Table, at 2114 14th Street NW, Washington DC.
