The St. Paul

Big city sophistication meets the best of Midwestern hustle in The St. Paul, part of our Professionals collection inspired by vibrant towns outside of Minneapolis. Today, as the state capital, St. Paul, along with its twin city, anchors the second-largest economic center in the Midwest.

What’s unique about this shirt?

From the Wabasha Caves, actual caves that were transformed by gangsters into an underground speakeasy known as the “Castle Royal” to the storied Cathedral of Saint Paul, one of the most distinctive cathedrals in the nation, modeled after St. Peter’s Basilica at the Vatican in Rome, St. Paul has shaped its own legendary success story.

Drawing inspiration from this beautiful blue collar city built on the bluffs of the Mississippi, our St. Paul dress shirt features a smart navy blue micro check pattern. Designed with our small button down collar, a luxurious 120s poplin fabric, and a collegiate yet modern style, the St. Paul will put you at ease.

Why should I care?

Crafted from a particular variety of Egyptian cotton that is renowned as some of the best in the world, this shirt will make you feel at home. Its cotton has longer fibers, resulting in a more durable fabric. Poplin, sometimes called broadcloth, is a plain weave which means the threads alternately cross over and then under each other. This results in a very smooth fabric that has an almost silky hand feel, particularly with the St. Paul’s high thread count. Also, poplins look very crisp when ironed.

How should I wear it?

Wear it with jeans when watching a hockey game and drinking local hops at your favorite bar, or with slacks when taking a stroll through historic landmarks and museums. You can mix and match it with our casual Seneca blazer in navy or burgundy, as well as dress it up with a cardigan or a tie.

When should I wear it?

Lightly-colored dress shirts are workhorses all year round. The St. Paul is a perfect fit for an evening socializing with friends, going on a date at your favorite hideaway, and backyard barbecues with your family.
