Hugh & Crye - We make shirts that fit

Hugh & Crye Styled: Stripes Templar

I could sit in an airport all day. Coffee and newspaper in hand, I love watching different people mill about in an atmosphere that is never monotonous. My favorite part? Studying airport fashion (how to dress when potentially sleep-deprived, making a first impression, or trying to pick up that attractive individual seated in seat C). Waiting for my flight, I sift through an oversized purse with my life inside and I envy those men and women who look way too put together for a 7 am. flight. My travel attire? Pants that stretch and probably whatever shirt I slept in.

Thus, I was inspired to create an airport ensemble around one of our classics, Stripes Templar. With its casual rounded collar, striped charcoal and white poplin, and white collar band, this shirt demands attention in a subtle and classic way. Paired with cuffed dark jeans (this season is all about the cuffs), nubian khaki ankle boots, and a simple black trench – this look is effortless and trendy, and still perfect for running from place A to place B.

As far as accessories, while a black trench brings out the charcoal in Stripes Templar, I’m all for the brown sunglasses and the khaki duffel. Too much matching is… well, too much. Whoever said brown and black don’t go well was confused.  Just remember, you never know who you might bump into on that last-minute business trip, and it doesn’t hurt to look nice for us people-watchers at the airport. Maybe more so for the cute girl sitting next to you…
