Hugh & Crye Styled: Sunday Best

Hey guys! Like Jeff, I am a current marketing intern with Hugh & Crye. I first became involved with Hugh & Crye through Phil (our customer service extraordinaire). Add to that my appreciation for fashion, and that I’m a marketing/public relations BA, and Hugh & Crye felt like a perfect fit.

As the only female on the H&C team, I can say it has been an eye-opening experience learning about the intricacies of mens dress shirts – I always assumed billowing pirate sleeves were the norm! That being said, I’d like to introduce you all to a new team blog series called Hugh & Crye Styled, where each week we’ll create “a look” for one of our shirts. Let us know what you think!

I’ll kick off the series with one of our tall button-down shirts, Sunday Best. Dress shirts are not just for work and nights out – and Sunday Best is the perfect example of this.

Sunday – typically a day of rest – is still a busy day for most of us (catching up on all that work we said we’d get done on Saturday, cleaning, etc.). However, come Sunday morning the first thing my mind (and stomach) is thinking of? Brunch. What better way to spend that following morning after a night out and about? Mimosas (at least for us females) -check. A hard copy of the Sunday paper – check. A relaxing bike ride downtown sans WMATA transportation – a must.

The look:

· Obviously, the Hugh & Crye Sunday Best: a tall button-down with rounded cuffs, a dobby fabric in blue, white and tan stripes

· I chose leather Purcells for their practicality and effortless style, a J Crew scarf (honestly, gray cable-knit scarfs go with everything), and relaxed jeans (UNIQLO makes an awesome looking jean for less than you’ll probably spend on brunch in Georgetown).

The result: Sunday Best keeps you looking classy and très man-on-the-go!
