Hugh & Crye - We make shirts that fit

Stuart, and our raison d’être

This past Saturday we were at our offices knocking out some work before the USA/Ghana World Cup game, when we received a call from Stuart, one of our winners of the Raffle Doodle Dandy, also known as bike valet ticket #312. He is one more H&C customer that we are fortunate to have – an advocate for education policy and an all-around good guy.

Stuart

Stuart braved the weekend heat and biked a couple miles to pick up his prize – a Hugh & Crye shirt of his choice. He’s the type of guy that goes to work every day with very few complaints; but for one, which was voiced loud and clear in person “I have the hardest time finding a shirt off the rack that actually fits.”

To date, Stuart gets his dress shirts altered to avoid looking like he’s wearing his duvet. With a 16 inch neck, 30 inch sleeves, even buying “tailored fit” shirts require tapering the body, shortening the sleeves, sometimes even cutting the length of the shirt, to get it to fit. All are fair game and often lead to gobs of money spent at the alterations shop that at times nearly equals the cost of the shirt.

We were admittedly a bit concerned! Would we be able to fit him?

The challenge and eventual answer has become our
raison d’être.

Our Short/Broad size fit Stuart better than any other shirt he has bought off the rack. Though the sleeves are a bit long, we were happy to recommend him to a local alterations shop to get a customer discount (we’ll be announcing the partnership soon!).

This is the reason Hugh & Crye was created; to create shirts that fit, without the endless process of custom shirt-making. For most guys we know, our shirts fit pretty darn well right off the rack. For others, we’re happy to help get it right.

Thanks Stuart! And enjoy your Plum Adventure shirt!
