The description that didn’t make it
Though our design process is nothing like the mass-brand approach, we certainly have little bursts of inspiration that we draw on when considering a design, or even fabric. Naming our shirts – and articulating the ‘story’ – is an important activity for us, given it immediately communicates a personality, and thus a brand.
Writing a product story during the wee hours, our very own Matt came up with this hot mess of cliches:
This is a shirt that rolls with the decisions you make, and not afraid to do a 180. Fearless when going against the grain, this shirt’s subtle design proves that it’s never too late to switch gears, and have resolve at the same time. Clear brush. Leverage your synergies. And, let’s touch base.
Ok, I added the last three sentences for effect. Though writing is really revising, and it can take many iterations before getting to a good place, we obviously scrapped this one. And picked it up for blog fodder (clever, eh?).
Tell us what you think about our names and product descriptions. Which ones resonate with you? We’d love to hear if it reminds of you of something. And if that thing is the J Peterman catalogs on Seinfeld, well, that’s fine too.
