We’re thrilled with the response to our “Ugly Shirt Contest” – photo submissions of the most ill-fitting shirts that we all own. We thank all of the participants (see gallery below) for their humility, commitment to better fitting shirts, and interest in Hugh & Crye. The top three were very close! But alas, winners were determined across the following criteria: affinity to H&C’s manifesto of ridding the world of ill-fitting shirts, impact of the picture, caption/description creativity.
And the winners are….
GRAND PRIZE ($400 of store credit at H&C)
The Grand Prize goes to M Scott Berkowitz of Washington, DC. Rotate the picture (or your laptop) and you can see a perfect display of an ill-fitting shirt. And the #1 reason guys come to us – better fitting shirts. We also love the tie in to the Puffy Shirt Episode on Seinfield.
SECOND PRIZE ($140 of store credit at H&C)
Second prize (and it was close) goes to Jacob Dowd. Congrats, Jacob, for effectively displaying and articulating how an ill-fitting shirt can resemble a “loose dress of Hawaiian origin“. Just check out the ridiculous amount of draping, folding and “volume” that is created by a typical department store shirt.
Honorable mention (again it was close!) goes to Jim Roper of NY, NY. Jim, love the relevance of “Too Big to Fail” — especially vis-a-vis your hometown and ours (wink, wink). Great picture as well – can’t tell, are you smuggling anything under there? Jim – drop us an email, we have a prize for you as well: [email protected]
Thank you all for participating! Until next time…
