Frequently Asked Questions

Company

Who are you guys?

The short version: We're a team of passionate people on a crusade to eliminate ill-fitting shirts from cubicles and bars around the world. Check out our about Hugh & Crye page for the full story.

Why Shirts?

Well, it truly started with a need: we couldn't find shirts that fit and were reasonably priced. Beyond that, we do see the modern dress shirt as the single most important garment in a man's wardrobe. Learn more about our amazing shirts.

Who are your models?

Our friends and colleagues. Regular guys that just so happen to be photogenic. They're good people, and we see them as an extension of our brand.

Product/Design

What types of fabrics do you use?

We try to source the best cotton for our shirts, and that happens to be mostly from Italian mills. Two-ply long-staple 100% Egyptian cotton, in 100s, 120s and 140s (yarn count). Happy to tell you why this is important! Just check out the Anatomy of a Hugh & Crye Dress Shirt which provides an in-depth guide to dress shirt fabrics and dress shirt weaves.

Where are your shirts manufactured?

We manufacturer all over the world. Our shirts and blazers are primarily manufactured in India using Italian fabrics. We're big fans of Made in the USA, but until we can make the economics and production needs work, we'll have to stick to producing our shirts and blazers elsewhere. We haven't given up on it yet, though! Our ties and pocket squares are made in Virginia and DC, and our fitted T-shirts are made in LA.

How should I care for my Hugh & Crye Shirt?

We're glad you asked! Check out our recommended care instructions. And please feel free to give us a call or email if you have any questions at all.

Are your shirts wrinkle free?

All of the fabrics we use have been treated at the textile mills for 'easy care.' This just means that they should be easier to handle after a wash—easier to iron, with less stubborn wrinkles. The higher the yarn count, naturally the more likely the shirt will wrinkle given it is a finer fabric. We don't use traditional "wrinkle free" treatments that are popular with other brands such as Brooks Brothers because it involves heavy chemicals that are harmful to the environment and the people that handle them. I have long arms...will your shirts fit me?

We have every reason to think so. Check out the way we approach fit, and if you have any questions at all, give us a shout.
